We're all just walking in this world, or between worlds of one kind or another. In all of that there are a few things that I know are mine. I know that I am my own person, as much as anyone can be, I guess. The hardest part of all is learning to be true to yourself. I have my daughters, Kylie and Antonia,Aunts, Jet and Fanny and probably the closest friendship / sister-relationship anyone could ever wish for with my sister, Gillian. Those things serve as my foundation, they are the constants that keep me grounded.

That is if you could ever call anything about Gilly grounded at all! *laughs* She has a spirit of adventure that I have always lacked. If Ihad half of her spontineity, I think my life would be a whole lot different than what it is now. Of course, I am pretty certain my taste in men would be much better than hers, no offense. She has the absolute worst taste in men! Seriously, though. I had the love of a really great guy, and he gave me two beautiful daughters. I will miss Michael like hell every single day, I know that. But I know that I will always have that love no matter what.

Do you go around tasting men a lot then? Just kidding. (and thinking)

Got something for you. You don't have to like it or even wear it, but I'm going to give it to you anyway when we hook up. In fact, if you don't like it, I will promise to go to anyplace in the world and replace it with something more to your liking just because I am that sort of man who plays fast and loose with my money because I have nothing better to do with it...or so my agent claims. Even though I try to tell him if I blow it all it just means that I will need to write more bestsellers and make him a shitload more of my money, too.

But enough of my problems.

I have dreamt of your house, with you sitting out back under the trees. It was sort of a Mad Hatter's tea and your sister was dressed as the dormouse, only with red fur and a big black hat with a purple bow. You had on this long flowing dress with flowers on it. Zinnias, I think. (do you grow zinnia's? do you like zinnia's? what are zinnia's anyway?) Big hat, too. Must have been the day for Big Hats. I was the Mad Hatter, anyway in this little production, so maybe I had a hat fetish, as well. The table and chairs were growing up out of the ground and all the teacups were too small and then your aunts floated by a la Mary Poppins and told us to watch out for the ducks and to keep our heads on. does make me wonder what was in the tea, anyway.

Do you have killer ducks on the island? I do try to keep my head with me at all times, though sometimes it does prove a difficult job.

My cat misses you. I told him he needs to be patient and win you over with mice. Or, barring that, some zinnias might do I guess.

Yours in the remote splendor of Vermont,

Hi, Mort!

To be honest,no,I don't taste too many men. *embarrassed look* I would love to hook up with you again sometime,

I love zinnias, and I grow zinnias. And even though my aunts have been known to fly like Mary Poppins, we don't have killer ducks so you and your head are safe should you decide to break out of the wilds of Vermont and come see us in Crescent Harbor.

I have some ice cream with your name on it, Mort. :)

You are the zinnia maiden of my heart and dreams then. I shall paint a picture of you that way, though painting is not really my thing so it may come out looking more like duck smudges on wet canvas.

The lighthouse? On the 15th of April?

What flavor of ice cream do Mad Hatters enjoy anyway? Do you think the dream was telling me I need to keep my head in order to keep a hat on?

No killer ducks. What kind of sad island is that...missing out on the killer duck tourist trade. Killer duck bobble head dolls and killer duck duvets and killer duck paperweights.

Do you aunts float in a paperweight? Among falling zinnia blossoms?

I could dream of that. Seriously.

Or of your hair.

Squidging off now to make a deadline,

I will be happy to meet you at the Lighthouse on the 15th of April. I look forward to it. But to be honest, Mort, it does seem a very long time in the future. Are you busy this weekend? Maybe you could shoot up to Crescent Harbour.

I am not sure what ice cream Mad Hatters like. (I was going to say 'wear', because my Aunts are quite mad, and they sometimes wear ice cream'. You know, between the two of us, I prefer you with your hat off, but with your head attached.

I think you should seriously think about patenting your idea about killer ducks. It would go over very well with the L.L. Bean set here in New England, and then you would make even more of a fortune than you do now as a best selling author. :)

Hope to see you soon!

I am busy like a beaver, but I will do as my zinniagirl asks and hang a hard left and come on up to see you and your lovely floating icecreamheaded aunties. Expect me when the wind shifts, or when you hear my jeep trundling down your street (damn, must get the engine looked are your aunties at fixing old tempermental vehicles that purr like a kitten for the damn mechanic and growl at me like an old dog who was curled up next to the fridge)

Quackity, quackity, your purveyer of Killer Ducks TM for the greater New England area.

Money, more money--now what the f*** do I need with that sh**

Please pardon my asterixically challenged self. My latest story is chewing on my shoes like a badly trained trout.

See ya soonest,
